Adonai

Adonai is the plural form of the Hebrew word Adon, which means "lord" or "master." It was first used as God's title before it was used as God's name. The plural and capitalized Adonai is used because, according to beliefs, God is the lord of all humanity and thus is the "lord of all lords."

The English word "Lord" in our Bible represents one Aramaic, three Greek, and nine Hebrew words, two of them in two forms. It can be represented in all levels of dignity, honor, and majesty.

"Therefore God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven and those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:9-11.

When we ask Jesus to come into our lives and do a mighty work within us, we are giving Him control of our lives to help guide and teach us the way. He becomes Lord over our lives, and all He wants in return is our faithful obedience so that His Will be done, not ours.

When life's struggles become too much for us to manage on our own, just remember we have our "Adonai" who will take our burdens and punishment upon Himself, so we may live in His Grace forever. The Master Of The Universe
